Martina Zwick and Lotta Lepistö finished GP di Comune Cornaredo (UCI 1.2) in 7th and 8th place so that Bigla Cycling Team earned its first UCI points for 2014. With most teams fielding nine riders, it made for an aggressive, fast race through the narrow, technical streets of Cornaredo.A dangerous early break containing eventual winner Shelley Olds (Alé Cipollini), Trixi Worrack (Specialized-lululemon) and Charlotte Becker (Wiggle-Honda) formed in the first half of the 121 kilometer one-day race.

Bigla Cycling Team’s Vera Koedooder finished Gent-Wevelgem, which had a UCI classification for the first time, in fantastic 3rd place. The Dutchwoman was obviously one of strongest riders in the bunch and only had to give in to Lauren Hall (US Nationalteam) and Janneke Ensing (Boels-Dolmans).

Right from the start of the 115 kilometre one-day race Koedooder made significant contribution to the formation of the leading group. In the final there were eight riders in front of the race, who worked together to stay away and had built an advantage of two minutes back to the bunch.

In the final kilometre as the riders started to play their cards, Koedooder tried to escape once again and was joined by Hall and Ensing in the winning move. "I’m really happy with this 3rd place", Koedooder cheered. "It was a tough race and I felt really good. Thanks everybody – staff, family, friends and fans – for your support."

At the world cup race Trofeo Binda in Italy, Bigla Cycling Team were out of luck again. Australian Joanne Hogan rode very well and had the chance to finish the race in the top 10. On the last 10 kilometres she was in the first group and entered the last climb in 3rd position, when another rider crashed into Hogan’s bike and damaged the quick release skewer on the back wheel. Thus the wheel was grinding and Hogan had no chance to follow the group. "I’m really disappointed. I had very good legs and felt quite comfortable in the climbs. It would have been possible to finish the race in a really good place", Hogan said.
