The second MTB World Cup stage took place in Cairns, Australia on April 27th. It was the best race so far for MTB RusVelo Team leader Irina Kalentieva. Two time world champion and Olympic medalist saw her first podium of the season finishing 3rd. After two races Kalentieva moved up to 4th place in World Cup standings with 280 points. The race was unpredictable. There were some exciting attacks and a lot of movement from all the favorites. Eva Lechner of italy celebrated victory while Canadian Emily Batty came in 2nd only 15 seconds in front of Irina Kalentieva.
