Giochi Olimpici RIO 2016

Congratulations from all the staff PARENTINI to Danish athletes who participated in the Olympics in Rio in 2016 and a special thanks to those who have won a medal. Thanks also to the technicians and to all the staff of the Danish team, who with their work have allowed the athletes to get the best results.

Jakob Fuglsang in the men’s road race on the gets the Silver medal after a sprint with Belgian Greg van Avermaet. For Denmark this is the first medal in these Olympics in Rio. The Danish team for the whole competition remained in a strategic position of the group. In the final Rafal Majka, after the violent fall of Vincenzo Nibali and Sergio Henao, he seemed victorious at the finish line; but Jakob Fuglsang and Greg Van Avermaet managed to reach the Polish that had to settle for bronze.

It is the first time since 1996 that Denmark won an Olympic medal in road cycling.

The team composed of E. Jørgensen, I. Villumsen, A. Thomsen and Lasse Norman Hansen won the Bronze medal in the TEAM PURSUIT, beating in the final for third and fourth place, New Zealand.

Lasse Norman Hansen, OLYMPIC champion OMNIUM in London in 2012, gets the win in the first and second round of Men’s OMNIUM (setting a new Olympic record in Individual Pursuit, 4: 14.982) and ends the day at the top. Instead, it is unfortunate his elimination test that affects the top step of the podium. In the last points race, the Danish makes a good race, even getting a lap ahead and winning a well-deserved Bronze behind the Italian Elia Viviani and the Englishman Mark Cavendish.

Fifth place in the Women’s OMNIUM for Amalie Dideriksen, to her first Olympics. Beautiful and exciting the last points race of the Danish girl, who wins two laps ahead and finish the race first; although not reaching the podium, she has proven to be definitely on her way to a bright future in competitive sports.

Thanks to Anikka LANGVAD XCO World Champion and Simon Andreassen who have given their best in their respective MTB Races.

And finally, a thank you to all the staff of the Danish Federation who, with Jacob Ørholm, has partnered with us to the realization of what was the most beautiful cyclist outfit of Rio 2016. A symbolic Gold medal that rewards design, quality and teamwork.
